Amos was a shepherd who looked after sheep in the hills. One day God gave him a big message to carry to lots of people — even kings.
Today's Story
Amos was not a king. He was not a soldier. He was a shepherd, out in the fields with his sheep, smelling like grass and sunshine.
But God picked Amos. God said, “I have a message. Go tell the people.”
So Amos stood up tall and said, “The Lord is speaking!”
One by one, Amos pointed at the cities and lands all around. There were towns that had been mean and cruel. They had hurt their neighbors. They had broken promises. They had treated weak people as if they did not matter at all.
And Amos said something surprising. He said God had been watching. God saw every unkind thing. None of it slipped past Him.
“The Lord says, ‘I have seen how you treated people,’” Amos told them. “It is time to stop being cruel.”
It was a serious message. But underneath it was something kind: God noticed the people who got hurt. God did not forget them. To God, every single person matters — even the smallest, even the ones nobody else stands up for.
A Big Word

Talk About It
- Have you ever seen someone being unkind to a kid who could not stick up for themselves? What happened?
- God noticed every person who got hurt — even the ones nobody else was watching. How does it feel to know God always sees you too?
- God picked a regular shepherd to carry His message. What does that tell you about who God can use?
