Ephesians is a letter a man named Paul wrote to help God's family love God and love each other.
This is the last part of his letter, and it is full of brave, strong words.
Today's Story
Paul is finishing his letter to God's family. He has one more thing he wants them to know, and it is important.
First, he talks to the kids. “Children, obey your parents,” he writes. “Honor your father and mother.” When you listen to your mom and dad, and treat them with kindness, it makes God happy. Then Paul talks to the moms and dads too. He tells them to be gentle, and to teach their children about God with love.
Then Paul says something exciting. He says God gives us special armor — like a brave knight wears! He tells us to put on the whole armor of God.
There is a belt that is the truth. There is a strong vest that keeps your heart safe. There are good shoes so you are ready to go. There is a big shield that stops every arrow, and that shield is trusting God. There is a helmet to guard your head, and a sword, which is the Bible — God's own words.
Why do we need armor? Because some days are hard, and there are sneaky troubles that try to pull us away from God. But Paul says we do not have to be afraid. We just stand strong, and we pray. God is the strong One, and God always wins.
A Big Word

Talk About It
- When is a time today that you obeyed your mom or dad, even when it was a little bit hard?
- If you could pick one piece of God's armor to wear right now, which would you pick — the shield, the helmet, the sword, or another one? Why?
- What is something that makes you feel scared? How does it help to know God is strong and stays right beside you?
