Ephesians 5 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Paul keeps writing his letter to God's loved family. In this part, he gives them one of the sweetest ideas in the whole Bible: be just like your Dad.

Today's Story

Have you ever caught yourself doing something exactly the way a grown-up you love does it? Maybe you walk like them, or say things like them, because you watch them and you love them.

Paul says, “Be like that with God. Copy your Father, because you are His dear children.”

God is loving, so we love. God is kind, so we are kind. God forgives, so we forgive. We watch how God does it, and we do it the same way.

Then Paul talks about light. He says we used to be in the dark, but now we belong to the light, so we get to live like sunshine — bright and warm and good, so other people feel happy and safe around us.

And Paul says one more wonderful thing. He tells God's family to sing! Make up songs in your heart to God. Say thank You to Him for everything, all the time.

Can you imagine that? A whole family that loves like God, shines like light, and sings happy thank-you songs. That is the kind of family God is building — and you are part of it.
