Galatians is a letter a man named Paul wrote to help God's family love God and love each other.
Some friends were getting mixed up about the good news, so Paul wrote to set things straight.
Today's Story
A long time ago, a man named Paul loved Jesus very much. He traveled from town to town telling people the good news: Jesus loves you, and Jesus came to rescue you. You don't have to earn it. It is a gift!
One day Paul heard some sad news. A group of his friends had started listening to other people who said, “The good news isn't enough. You have to do all these extra rules to make God happy.”
That made Paul worried. So he picked up his pen and wrote them a letter.
“There is only one good news,” Paul wrote. “Don't let anyone trade it for a different one!”
Then Paul told them his own story. He said, “I used to be mean to people who loved Jesus. I thought I was right, but I was wrong.” Then Jesus met Paul and changed his heart. Now Paul loved the very people he used to chase away.
Paul knew the good news was true because Jesus had shown it to him Himself. And the good news is still the same today: God loves you, and that will never change.
A Big Word
Memory Verse
Talk About It
- What is the best gift someone has ever given you? Did you have to earn it, or was it free?
- Paul changed from being unkind to being loving. Who do you think helped him change?
- How does it feel to know God loves you as a gift, not as a prize you have to win?
