Galatians 2 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Paul keeps writing his letter to God's family.

In this part, Paul reminds everyone that we belong to God by trusting Jesus — not by following a list of rules.

Today's Story

Paul kept writing his letter. He wanted his friends to understand something very important.

Paul told them about a time he visited the leaders who knew Jesus best. They all agreed on the same good news: people become God's family by trusting Jesus, not by being good enough on their own.

Then Paul told a hard story. His friend Peter came for a visit. At first Peter sat and ate happily with everyone, all mixed together. But when some important people showed up, Peter got nervous. He pulled away and stopped eating with certain friends, like they didn't belong.

That wasn't fair. So Paul was brave. He went right up to Peter and said, “Peter, this is wrong. We all belong to Jesus the same way.”

Paul wrote it down so everyone would remember: “We are made right with God by trusting Jesus.” Not by being the best. Not by following every little rule. Just by holding onto Jesus, who loves us and gave Himself for us.

Talk About It

  1. Have you ever seen someone get left out? How do you think they felt?
  2. Paul was brave and told Peter the truth, even though it was hard. When is it hard to do the right thing?
  3. Jesus says everyone who trusts Him belongs. Who is someone you could make feel welcome this week?
