Paul is still writing his letter to God's family.
Here he reminds them of a very old promise God made — and how that promise is for everyone who trusts Him.
Today's Story
Paul had a question for his friends. “Silly friends!” he wrote, kindly. “You started off trusting Jesus. Why are you trying to earn God's love now with a list of rules?”
Then Paul reminded them of a man named Abraham, who lived a very long time ago. God made Abraham a big promise: “Through your family, I will bless the whole world.” And do you know why God called Abraham His friend? Not because Abraham was perfect. It was because Abraham believed God.
Paul explained that this promise was always pointing to Jesus. Jesus is the one who brings God's blessing to the whole world — to every kind of person, everywhere.
Then Paul wrote the best part. “You are all God's children by trusting Jesus.” It doesn't matter where you're from, or how old you are, or anything else. When you trust Jesus, you belong to God's family.
The rules could never make us God's children. Only Jesus could do that. And He did!
