In the beautiful garden, the first people make the first wrong choice. But even on the saddest day, God does something that points all the way to hope.
Today's Story
Adam and Eve lived in the garden God made, close to Him and happy, with just one rule: don't eat from one special tree.
One day a crafty serpent came to Eve. “Did God really say you can't eat from that tree?” he asked. Then he twisted God's words: “You won't really get hurt. God just doesn't want you to be wise like Him.”
Eve looked at the fruit. It looked so good. She took a bite. Then she gave some to Adam, and he ate it too.
And right away, everything felt different. For the very first time, they felt ashamed. When they heard God walking in the garden, they did something brand new — they hid.
God called out, “Where are you?” Not because He didn't know — but because He came looking for them anyway.
They told Him what they had done. There were hard results: the world would no longer be the easy, perfect place it was meant to be. But even then, God made a promise — that one day Someone would come who would beat the serpent and make everything right again. And gently, kindly, God made warm clothes for Adam and Eve with His own hands.
They had done wrong and tried to hide. But God came looking. And God already had a rescue planned.
A Big Word
Memory Verse
Talk About It
- The serpent made Eve think God's rule was keeping something good from her — but it wasn't true. When has something wrong looked fun or good at first?
- Adam and Eve hid when they felt ashamed, but God came looking for them. When you do something wrong, what's better — hiding from God, or running to Him?
- Even on that sad day, God promised to make everything right one day. How does it feel to know God always has a plan to fix what's broken?
