Habakkuk started his book with hard questions. He ends it with a song — a song about choosing to be glad in God, even when life is hard.
Today's Story
By the end, something had changed inside Habakkuk. He still didn't have every answer. But he remembered who God was, and he started to sing.
He remembered all the ways God had rescued His people long ago. He pictured God as strong and shining and good — coming to help, coming to save. “Lord, I have heard about the wonderful things You do,” he sang.
Then Habakkuk said the bravest thing in the whole book. He looked ahead at days that might be really hard. He imagined the worst — what if the fig trees grew no figs? What if there were no apples on the trees, no food in the fields, no sheep, no cows?
And even then, he said this: “Yet I will be joyful in God my Savior. I will be glad because of Him.”
Wow. Even if everything went wrong, Habakkuk would still be glad — not because the hard things were fun, but because GOD was still good, and God was still his.
And he finished with this: “The Lord is my strength. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer — He helps me climb the high places.”
Habakkuk began with questions. He ended with a song. God had not changed — but Habakkuk's heart had learned to trust.
