Job 39 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

God is still answering Job. This time He talks about His wild animals — and it is like the best nature show ever.

Today's Story

God keeps talking to Job, and now He brings out the animals.

“Do you know when the mountain goats high up on the cliffs have their babies?” God asks. “I do. I watch over every one.”

“Who set the wild donkey free to run wherever it wants? I did. It laughs at the busy town and lives out in the open hills.”

Then God talks about the ostrich, who flaps her funny wings and can't fly — but when she runs, she is so fast she leaves the horses behind! And the strong horse, who is not afraid in a battle and paws the ground and says, in his heart, let's go!

“Look up,” God says. “Is it because you are wise that the hawk spreads its wings and flies south? Did you teach the eagle to build her nest up high and see her dinner from far, far away?”

Of course Job didn't do any of that. God did. God made each animal exactly how it should be, and God feeds them and watches them every single day.

And here is the warm part: if God takes such good care of a wild donkey and a baby goat on a cliff, He is surely taking good care of Job too. And He is taking good care of you.

A Big Word

Memory Verse

Talk About It

  1. What is your favorite wild animal? What do you think is the coolest thing God gave it?
  2. God made the ostrich a fast runner and the eagle a high flyer. What is something special God made you good at?
  3. If God remembers to feed every wild bird and goat, what does that tell us about how He cares for you?
