John 2 for Kids

At a wedding party, the host runs out of something important — and Jesus does His very first miracle, quietly and kindly.

Today's Story

Jesus, His mother Mary, and His friends were invited to a wedding in a town called Cana. Weddings back then were big, happy parties that lasted for days!

But something went wrong: the host ran out of drinks for the guests. Mary came to Jesus and said, “They have no more.” She trusted that Jesus could help.

Nearby stood six huge stone jars used for washing. Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” So they filled them right to the brim. Then Jesus said, “Now scoop some out and take it to the man in charge of the party.”

When the man tasted it — it wasn't water anymore. It had become the BEST drink of the whole party! “Usually the best is served first,” he said, amazed, “but you saved the best for last!”

Jesus did this quietly — most people didn't even know. It was His very first miracle, and it showed His friends His glory, so they believed in Him even more.

Jesus cares about our everyday moments — even a wedding party — and He loves to help, often in quiet, kind ways.
