Nehemiah 9 for Kids

The people came together again, and this time they prayed one long, beautiful prayer. It was like telling the whole story of God's kindness, all the way from the very beginning.

“You made everything,” they prayed. “You made the sky and the stars and the sea and all the animals. You give them all life!”

They remembered how God led their families out of a faraway land where they had been treated badly. He went in front of them like a tall cloud in the daytime and a glowing fire at night, so they were never lost.

They remembered how God gave them bread from the sky when they were hungry, and clean water from a rock when they were thirsty. He even kept their shoes from wearing out!

And then the people said something honest. “Lots of times we forgot You. We did wrong things. But You never stopped loving us. You are kind and patient, slow to get angry, full of love.”

Remembering all of that helped the people trust God again. He had taken care of them every single step of the way.
