Psalm 115 is a song that says God is the real, living God who helps us - and He is the One who should get all the praise.
Today's Story
This song begins with a humble little prayer: “Lord, the glory belongs to You, not to us.” The singers don't want to show off. They want everyone to see how great God is.
Then the song talks about something a little bit silly. Back then, some people made statues out of gold and silver and bowed down to them, like the statues were real.
But the song says, look closely! “They have mouths, but they can't speak. They have eyes, but they can't see. They have ears, but they can't hear.” A statue can't help anybody. It just sits there.
Our God is not like that. He is alive. He really sees you. He really hears you. He really helps. The song says, “Trust in the Lord. He is their help.”
And the best part is a happy promise near the end: “The Lord remembers us. He will bless us.” The God who made the whole sky remembers your name and wants to do good things for you.
