For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up
Psalm 150 is the very last song in the book of Psalms. It is also the happiest - one big, loud cheer for God.
Today's Story
Picture the biggest, happiest party you can think of. Now make it even bigger.
That is what this song is like. It is the last one in the whole book of Psalms, and it ends with a giant cheer for God.
The song calls out, “Praise the Lord!” And then it starts naming instruments, one after another, like everyone is grabbing something to play.
Blow the trumpets! Strum the harps! Bang the drums! Crash the cymbals - the loud, shiny ones! Pluck the strings and blow the flutes! And do not just stand there - dance!
Why all the noise? Because God is great. He is strong, and He is good, and He does amazing things. That is plenty of reason to celebrate.
Then comes the very last line. It does not say “let the singers praise Him” or “let the grown-ups praise Him.” It says everything that breathes should praise the Lord. Every person. Every bird. Every puppy. If you can take a breath, you are invited to the party.
So take a breath - and praise the Lord!
