John's big dream from God keeps going. This time he learns something amazing about your prayers.
Today's Story
Jesus the Lamb opens the very last seal on God's scroll. And then something surprising happens. All of heaven goes quiet. Still and silent, like the whole sky is holding its breath.
An angel comes and stands by the altar. He is holding a golden bowl, and inside the bowl is sweet-smelling smoke. John learns what the smoke is. It is the prayers of God's people — every single one.
The smoke rises up, up, up, all the way to God. That means your prayers go straight to God too. He smells them like the nicest, sweetest smell. He does not miss even one.
Then John sees that God is starting to deal with all the wrong in the world — the meanness and the hurting. Trumpets sound, like a warning that change is coming. God is not letting bad things win forever.
It is a big, awe-filled dream. But here is the part to hold onto: God hears every prayer, and God is going to make things right.
A Big Word
Memory Verse
Talk About It
- What is one thing you would love to talk to God about today?
- How does it feel to know God keeps your prayers like a sweet smell and never forgets them?
- All of heaven went quiet to listen. When is it easiest for you to be quiet and talk to God?
