Romans 16 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Romans is a long letter Paul wrote to help God's family love God and love each other. This is the very end of the letter.

Today's Story

Paul is almost done with his long letter. He has written page after page about how much God loves us. Now he wants to say goodbye — and he says it in the warmest way of all.

He starts naming people. Lots and lots of people. “Say hello to Priscilla and Aquila,” he writes. “They are my friends, and they help me.” “Say hello to Mary. She works so hard.” “Say hello to my dear friend Persis.”

On and on it goes — name after name after name. Paul remembers each one. He remembers who is kind, who works hard, who has loved him like family.

A woman named Phoebe is the one carrying this very letter to them. Paul says, “Be good to her. Help her with anything she needs.”

Then Paul writes one more thing, like a big warm hug for everybody: “Greet each other with love.” God's family is full of real people. And Paul wanted every single one of them to know they were seen, they were loved, and they belonged.

Talk About It

  1. Who said hello to you today? How did it feel when they did?
  2. Paul remembered each friend by name. Who is someone you are really glad belongs to your family or your church?
  3. What is a kind way you could greet someone tomorrow who might feel left out?
