Romans 7 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Romans is a letter a man named Paul wrote to help God's family love God and love each other.

Today's Story

In his letter, Paul does something very brave. He tells the truth about himself.

Paul says, “I want to do what is good. But sometimes I do the very thing I did not want to do!” Has that ever happened to you? You really, truly want to share. And then your hands grab the toy anyway. Paul felt that too.

It is like there is a tug-of-war inside. One part of you wants to be kind and good. Another part wants its own way. And trying hard by yourself does not always win the rope.

So Paul almost cries out, “Who will save me?” And then he remembers the happy answer. “Thanks be to God! He saves me through Jesus!”

Paul could not fix his own heart by trying harder. But he did not have to. He had a Helper. We do not win the tug-of-war alone — Jesus pulls with us, and Jesus rescues us. So when doing right feels hard, we can stop and say, “Jesus, help me.” And He does.
