Lamentations 3:61 Meaning and Explanation

'Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD.' As God has seen the enemies' deeds, so he has heard their words — the taunts, the insults, the reproaches hurled at the sufferer. The mocking that wounded him did not go unheard in heaven. God listened to every scornful word.

'And all their imaginations against me' is repeated, pressing home that God knows the full scope of the hostility, both spoken and secret. The sufferer takes refuge in the completeness of God's knowledge. The reproach that he could not silence, God has heard; the plots he could not uncover, God has known. To be fully heard and fully known by God is the rest of the wronged soul, who can now leave the whole matter in hands that miss nothing.
