What Does Leviticus 11:23 Mean?
This concludes the insect section by returning to the general rule. Any flying creature that walks on four legs without the ability to leap is forbidden.
The contrast with the previous verse is sharp. The exception for jumping insects confirms that all other crawling fliers are unclean.
