What Does Luke 15:9 Mean?
The woman's joy repeats the shepherd's almost word for word: friends and neighbors are called in — "Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost." The celebration may well have cost more than the coin was worth. Joy does not do that kind of math.
