What Does Luke 18:30 Mean?
The promise pays in two installments. In this present time: those who lose family for the kingdom receive a larger one — the family of believers, with its many homes and mothers and brothers, as the book of Acts soon shows. In the world to come: life everlasting, the very inheritance the rich ruler asked about and walked away from.
God is no man's debtor. The arithmetic of the kingdom is 'manifold more' — not bare reimbursement but overflowing return, beginning now and never ending. What the ruler feared as ruin, Jesus reveals as the soundest investment a soul can make: nothing given up for God is ever finally lost.
