What Does Luke 22:37 Mean?
He quotes Isaiah 53:12, the song of the suffering servant, and claims it as his own script: 'this that is written must yet be accomplished in me.' Counted with criminals - arrested like a bandit (verse 52), crucified between two of them (Luke 23:32-33).
'The things concerning me have an end' - not a petering out but an arrival; everything written of him is reaching its goal.
