What Does Luke 4:35 Mean?
No incantations, no ritual, no bargaining, only two commands: be silent, and come out. The spirit makes one final violent gesture, flinging the man down in the midst of the congregation, and then is gone. Luke adds the careful detail: it hurt him not.
