What Does Luke 6:18 Mean?
Luke singles out the most afflicted of the crowd: those vexed by unclean spirits, people whose torment went deeper than disease. They too have come, or been brought, to Jesus — and they are healed.
No darkness in that crowd is too entrenched for him. The verse is brief, but its mercy is wide: the ones most feared and avoided are not pushed to the edge of the gathering; they leave free. Christ's power reaches the troubles we cannot name as well as the ones we can.
