What Does Mark 1:6 Mean?
Mark pauses to describe the preacher. The rough garment of hair and the leather girdle about the loins repeat, almost word for word, the description of Elijah the prophet (2 Kings 1:8), and locusts and wild honey are the clean, simple food the desert itself provides (Leviticus 11:22).
