What Does Mark 16:7 Mean?
Before his arrest Jesus had said precisely this: 'after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee' (Mark 14:28). Now the promise is set in motion, and mourners are turned into messengers. One disciple is singled out: 'and Peter' — the man who, days earlier, denied his Lord three times in a courtyard (Mark 14:66-72).
Those two words hold an ocean of mercy. Peter's collapse has not erased his place; the risen Christ wants his most broken follower to know he is still expected. And the Lord is already out ahead of them all, going before his people as he always has. Failure does not get the final word — his promise holds even when ours have shattered.
