What Does Mark 4:26 Mean?
A new parable begins, the only one found in Mark alone. The kingdom of God, Jesus says, is like a man casting seed into the earth. The farmer reappears, but the spotlight is shifting: this story will dwell not on the soils but on the seed itself and its strange, unstoppable life.
The kingdom comes the way a crop comes, from sowing. It does not arrive by force of arms or clever argument but by the word of God cast into human hearts, plainly, repeatedly, hopefully. That is how Jesus Himself was working in Galilee, one voice scattering seed, and how His reign still spreads. Whoever drops the word into another life, a child, a friend, a stranger, is doing kingdom work in its most authentic form.
