Mark 5:24 Meaning and Explanation

Jesus goes at once -- no hesitation, no conditions. But the crowd goes too, thronging him so closely that the urgent journey slows to a crush of bodies. Somewhere in that crush, unnoticed, walks a woman carrying her own last hope.

Mark gives us the scene's tension: a child is dying, every minute matters, and progress is choked by the multitude. Yet within the delay another mercy is preparing. Jesus is never so committed to one sufferer that he cannot stop for another, and what looks like interruption will become, by the end of the chapter, the deepening of Jairus's own faith. With Christ, delays are not denials.
