What Does Mark 6:5 Mean?
Mark states it starkly: in that town the works of power largely ceased. The hindrance lay not in the Lord but in the town, for mighty works belong where they will be received as the works of God, and Nazareth had already decided what Jesus could be. Even so, mercy did not leave empty handed; a few of the sick felt his hands and were healed.
Unbelief closes doors that grace stands ready to enter. Yet notice the gentleness of the exception: wherever a flicker of need reached toward him, healing answered. The Lord does not force wonders on a shut heart, but he never refuses the one who comes.
