What Does Mark 6:7 Mean?
The mission widens. The twelve were first called to be with him; now they are sent from him, in pairs, so that every testimony stands on two witnesses and no man walks alone. What they carry is not technique but a grant of his own authority over the powers of darkness.
Christ shares his work with ordinary men, and that pattern is the seed of all ministry since. The pairing is mercy as well as strategy, companionship for the road and courage for the opposition. Whatever the Lord commissions, he supplies; the sent ones go in a strength that was given, not earned.
