Here is the substance of the private teaching, the second of three times Jesus foretells His death in this Gospel (Mark 8:31; 10:33-34): the Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him, and he shall rise the third day. The word delivered speaks of a handing over already in motion.
