What Does Mark 9:6 Mean?
Mark adds a candid aside: Peter did not know what to say, for the three were overcome with fear. Awe has outrun understanding, and Peter fills the holy silence with the first plan that comes to mind. Scripture does not hide the stumbling of its saints.
