What Does Mark 9:7 Mean?
A cloud overshadows the mountain, the sign of God's presence that covered Sinai and filled the tabernacle (Exodus 40:34-35). Out of it comes the Father's voice, as at the baptism (Mark 1:11), but now the word is addressed to the disciples: This is my beloved Son: hear him.
