What Does Matthew 12:44 Mean?
The parable continues. The unclean spirit resolves to return to the person it left, calling them its house. Coming back, it finds the house empty, swept clean, and put in order, but unoccupied. The cleansing has made room, yet nothing good has taken up residence.
