What Does Matthew 28:9 Mean?
As they run with the angel's message, the risen Lord Himself meets them on the road. His greeting is warm and simple, 'All hail.' Overcome, they fall and take hold of His feet, the very feet that bear the wounds of the cross, and they worship Him.
Their response is the only fitting one before the risen Christ: they worship. He receives it. The encounter is physical and real, no vision or ghost, but the Lord they can touch and hold. The same Jesus who died now stands before them alive, and the proper place for every heart that meets Him is at His feet in worship.
