What Does Micah 2:9 Mean?
The oppression reaches the most defenseless: women cast out of their pleasant homes, children robbed of the inheritance and dignity that were their birthright. What God calls 'my glory' is torn away from the little ones.
Scripture measures a society by how it treats the powerless, and here the verdict is severe. To wound widows and children is to assault the very honor of God, who is their defender. The Lord takes the suffering of the vulnerable personally, and this tenderness toward the weak runs straight through to the heart of Christ.
