In that day the Lord will gather the lame, the outcast, and the afflicted, the very ones the world overlooks.

What Does Micah 4:6 Mean?

God names whom He will gather: the lame, the one driven away, the afflicted, even those He Himself has chastened. These are the broken and the scattered, the people the world counts as lost. They are the ones He reaches for first.

The heart of God bends toward the wounded and the outcast. He does not gather only the strong and whole; He assembles the limping and the cast-off. This is the shepherd seeking the lost sheep, the tenderness that runs through all Scripture and reaches its fullness in Christ, who came to seek and to save exactly those whom others had given up on.
