What Does Nehemiah 13:9 Mean?
After removing what defiled the chamber, Nehemiah commanded that the rooms be cleansed, and he brought back the vessels of God's house along with the offerings and frankincense that belonged there.
Putting out the wrong was only half the work; the right had to be restored. True reform clears away corruption and then fills the cleansed place with what is holy. So the gospel does not merely empty the heart of evil but fills it with Christ, who makes His people a dwelling fit for God.
