What Does Nehemiah 5:19 Mean?
The chapter closes with a brief prayer. Having recounted his service, Nehemiah does not seek the praise of people but turns to God: think upon me, my God, for good. He commits his record and his reward to the One who sees in secret.
This is faith that looks past human recognition to the remembrance of God. Nehemiah asks not for repayment from the people he spared but only that the Lord would hold his labor in mind for good.
