Plant wrongdoing and harvest emptiness; anger and aggression ultimately destroy their wielder.

Context

The law of sowing and reaping applied to iniquity and anger.

What Does Proverbs 22:8 Mean?

The sower and reaper are the same person. If you plant seeds of injustice and cruelty, you will reap crops of hollowness and loss. The universe does not reward such sowing.

The violent person who relies on anger as a tool believes it gives them power, but in the end it consumes them. The rod of anger becomes their downfall, not their triumph.
