What Does Revelation 12:14 Mean?
In answer to the dragon's pursuit, the woman is given two wings of a great eagle. With them she flies to her place in the wilderness, far from the face of the serpent, and there she is nourished through an appointed season described as a time, and times, and half a time.
The eagle's wings recall how God once said He bore His people out of bondage on eagles' wings and brought them to Himself. The same rescuing care meets the woman here. The serpent pursues, but God supplies the very means of escape and then feeds her in the place of refuge. The measured season, set by God, has a definite end. His people may be driven far, but they are carried by Him and kept by Him until the danger has run its course.
