What Does Revelation 14:10 Mean?
The warning of the third angel reaches its weight here. Those who give themselves to the beast will drink the wine of God's wrath, poured without mixture, the cup of full and unsoftened judgment. The image answers the wine of Babylon's corruption with the cup of divine justice.
Scripture does not flinch from the seriousness of turning from God, and neither should we. Yet the warning itself is a mercy, spoken so that hearers may flee to the Lamb while there is time.
