What Does Revelation 15:1 Mean?
After the visions of the dragon, the beasts, and the harvest of the earth, John's gaze lifts again to heaven and he beholds a third great sign. Seven angels stand ready, each bearing one of the seven last plagues. This opens the final cycle of judgments in the book, the bowls of wrath that the chapter will soon describe.
To call these the last plagues is to say that the long patience of God has a horizon. Evil is neither endless nor unanswered; a day comes when justice is poured out in full and the account is closed.
