What Does Revelation 19:10 Mean?
Overwhelmed, John falls at the feet of the heavenly messenger to worship him. The messenger sharply refuses, calling himself a fellow servant with John and the believers who hold the testimony of Jesus, and directs all worship to God alone. He then declares that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Even glorious beings refuse the worship that belongs to God. The messenger places himself alongside John as a servant, not above him as an object of reverence. The final line lifts everything to its true center: all genuine prophecy points to and bears witness to Jesus.
