What Does Revelation 2:18 Mean?
Thyatira, a town known for its trade guilds, receives the longest of the seven letters. Here alone the Lord names Himself "the Son of God." His eyes are like a flame of fire and His feet like burnished brass, images of searching sight and unshakable strength drawn from the first vision.
Eyes of fire see through every disguise; feet of glowing brass cannot be moved. To a church where compromise had taken root, the Lord presents Himself as the One who sees all and stands firm in judgment. Nothing hidden escapes His gaze, and nothing false can topple Him. This is the Christ before whom the church's secrets lie open, and in whom the faithful find a sure foundation.
