Revelation 2:28 Meaning and Explanation

The promises to Thyatira close with a final gift: "I will give him the morning star." The morning star is the bright herald that shines before the dawn, a sign of a new day breaking. Later in Revelation, the Lord calls Himself "the bright and morning star."

To receive the morning star is, in the end, to receive Christ Himself, the light who heralds the everlasting day. Beyond authority and reward, this is the deepest promise: the gift of the Lord's own presence, the dawn that follows every night of trial. For the faithful who hold fast in darkness, He pledges Himself as their morning. The night will pass, and the Star will rise.
