What Does Romans 16:27 Mean?
The letter closes as it has run, in worship. Paul gives glory 'to God only wise,' the One whose perfect wisdom devised the whole plan of salvation, and he offers that glory 'through Jesus Christ,' the one Mediator through whom every blessing comes. He seals it 'for ever' with a final 'Amen.'
After all the doctrine, the warnings, and the long roll of names, everything resolves into praise. The wisdom that hid the mystery for ages and unveiled it in Christ is beyond our knowing, and the only fitting response is glory. To God belongs the honor, now and forever, for a salvation we could never have devised and can only receive with thanksgiving through His Son.
