In the appointed time God made His word known through preaching, a task entrusted to Paul by the command of God the Saviour.

What Does Titus 1:3 Mean?

The promise made before the world began has now broken into history. Paul says God has, at the right time, brought His word into the open through preaching. The eternal purpose became a proclaimed message, and Paul was handed the trust of declaring it by God's own command.

Here we see how God's saving plan reaches people: through the spoken word faithfully announced. The timing is God's, not ours; He acts when the season is ripe. And the message is a stewardship, not a personal possession. For the reader, this dignifies the simple act of proclaiming Christ. The God who saves chose preaching as the channel by which His ancient promise meets us today, calling us to listen and believe.
