Zechariah 1:20 Meaning and Explanation

To the four threatening horns God now adds a second sight: four carpenters, or craftsmen, skilled workers who can shape and break the hard things of the world. They are exactly matched to the horns, four against four. The vision is moving from threat to answer, and the answer comes directly from the LORD, who 'showed' them.

For every power that scatters, God has a power prepared to overthrow it. The carpenters appear at His initiative, summoned to do what the horns could never resist. This is the rhythm of God's deliverance: He lets His people see the danger, then unveils the help He has already made ready. No menace is shown without its remedy close behind, for the Lord never reveals the wound except to lead on toward the healing.
