What Does Zechariah 10:1 Mean?
After promising deliverance to His people, the prophet turns to the simplest of daily needs: rain. In the land of Israel the latter rain fell in spring, swelling the grain before harvest. A whole year's bread depended on those weeks of showers, and so the call goes out to seek them from the LORD rather than from the idols just named.
The verse teaches the heart where to look. Every bright cloud and every blade of grass comes from the hand of God, who delights to give good gifts to those who ask. He invites His people to bring their plainest needs to Him, trusting that the One who clothes the field will not forget His children. To ask is itself an act of faith that He hears.
