What Does Zechariah 10:11 Mean?
The verse recalls the parting of the sea at the exodus, when God made a path through the waters for His people. Now He passes through the sea of affliction again, smiting the waves and drying up the deep so that nothing can bar the way home. Every obstacle that holds His people captive is swept aside.
The proud empires fall before Him. Assyria's arrogance is humbled and Egypt's scepter, its symbol of power, passes away. No nation, however mighty, can stand against the purpose of God to redeem His own. The God who once opened the Red Sea still makes a way through every barrier, and the powers that enslave are no match for the Shepherd who comes to set His flock free.
